ElQuant™ is a program for calculating electrophoresis running time and separation of DNA fragments on Elchrom Scientific AG ready-to-use gels. It facilitates the choice of correct gels and eliminates the guessing about electrophoresis conditions. After you enter the lengths of the DNA fragments to be separated, the program will provide the separation between the two bands in millimetres and the running time in minutes.
The results are given for different gel lengths which correspond to migration distances of the shorter fragment.
Even if at present you do not use Elchrom Scientific AG ready-to-use gels, you may wish to simulate the separation of your DNA fragments, for example on Spreadex gels that possess a resolving power that is 3-fold higher compared to acrylamide gels.
